On Saturday, Kobe Bryant was formally inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Bryant, killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020, was offered by Michael Jordan to Vanessa Bryant, Bryant’s spouse, who gave a poignant speech honoring the previous Laker.
In addition to Bryant, who gained 5 NBA titles and was an 18-time All-Star, the category of 2020 included Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Eddie Sutton, Rudy Tomjanovich, Tamika Catchings, Kim Mulkey, Barbara Stevens and Patrick Bowman.
On social media, basketball veterans and groups shared their assist for the brand new Hall of Famer.
